The owl is based on a random clip-art owl I found, only that one was a friendly-looking, round-bodied, big-eyed with ear-tufts variety; I took the general idea and gave it the narrow, unnerving gaze of the barn owl instead. I was then obligated to put him in a creepy fractal tree and plonk a gigantic moon behind the whole thing. And I plastered the place with *Sirius-sdz textures for good measure.

I don't usually do your traditional Halloween kind of stuff, so there's no telling where this nonsense came from.

Ooh, I like! The design on the owl's body looks suitably like fangs or some creepy African mask and Barn Owl faces are definitely alien. Awesomeness!

Thanks! I have an enormous soft spot for barn owls, as a glance at the owl folder in my favorites will tell you.

I might end up recycling the tree-shape for this year's Christmas art.
